Winifred Holtby (23 June 1898 – 29 September 1935)
Winifred Holtby was an English novelist and journalist, best known for her novel South Riding. She was a close friend of Vera Brittain, author of the highly acclaimed war memoir, Testament of Youth. Sadly, she died young, and just afer finishing South Riding. Further biographical information can be found on firstworldwar.com and Wikipedia.
